Mother's Day 2009

What a nice beautiful day we had, the sun was shining and it was nice and warm but not to warm! Drew and the kids took me to Shoney's for the Mother's Day Breakfast Buffet! The food was great and the kids behaved for the most part! Owen was loving shoney's that is one of his favorite places to eat, because he can eat all he wants and has lots to choose from. They were very busy that morning and at one point ran out of plates for the buffet! But other than that is was very good and i didnt have a mess in the kitchen to clean up afterwards!!
Me at Shoney's

The kids enjoying the yummy food!!

After filling up on a great breakfast we went home and the kids gave me the gifts that they made in school. Ian made a cute card for me that said "you are the best mom in the world" and also made a cute colorful paper flower with it! Autumn made a book in school about mommy and why she loves her mommy! They were sooo cute!

I also got a awesome cake!! Drew took the kids to Bi-Lo and they got to decorate a cake for mommy!! they did such a awesome job and it was made from their heart!! Take a look at this masterpiece!!

I had such a great weekend between our anniversary and then mothers day!! I Hope you all had a great Mother's Day as I did and were blessed in every way!!

A Thousand Thanks
Mother's Day brings to mindThe thousands of things you did for methat helped make me happier, stronger and wiser, because I had you as a role model.
I'm grateful for all the timesyou healed my hurtsand calmed my fears,so that I could face the worldfeeling safe and secure.
I'm thankful for all you showed meabout how to love and give--lessons that now bringso many blessings to meeach and every day.
Your sacrifices and unselfishnessdid not go unnoticed, Mom.I admire you, I respect you,I love you.And I'm so glad you're my mother!
Happy Mother's Day!

My Miracle Mother
Mom, I look at youand see a walking miracle.Your unfailing love without limit, your ability to soothe my every hurt, the way you are on duty, unselfishly, every hour, every day, makes me so gratefulthat I am yours, and you are mine. With open arms and open heart, with enduring patience and inner strength, you gave so much for me,sometimes at your expense. You are my teacher,my comforter, my encourager, appreciating all, forgiving all.Sometimes I took you for granted, Mom,but I don’t now, and I never will again.I know that everything I am todayrelates to you and your loving care.I gaze in wonderas I watch you being you—my miracle, my mother.

And for those Mother-In Laws...

Star Mother-In-Law
Some mother-in-laws are possessive;Their child they still want to own.My mother-in-law’s love is like sunlight; On both of us it shone.
Some mother-in-laws put you down; They think you’re not good enough. My mother-in-law shows approval,Affection, and other good stuff.
Some mother-in-laws interfere; They think that they know best.My mother-in-law lets us be;She’s better than the rest.
And so I just want to thank youFor being who you are; You’ve made everything so easy;As a mother-in-law, you’re a star!

Spring storms

Spring has been here in North Carolina for some time now. But lately all we get is storms and more storms. All last week for 7 days in a row we had nothing but rain, thunderstorms, tornado warnings and flooding. I am confused as to how North Carolina can be in a drought when most of the time all it does is RAIN! I would think by now we would be in the clear, but no, still in a drought! I guess i really cant complain to much since i am on well water with 6 other houses. We need that rain water for the well to fill up!

Today i woke up to the whole house shaking and rain so hard i thought it would cause some damage!

I really cant wait till next week! We will have Sun, Sun and more Sun! Awesome! And as my sister Bobbi-Jo would say "Welcome to the South!"

Next Step!

Well my referral finally went through for the Weight Management Center. I was so excited to hear this, i have been waiting for 4 weeks for my Family doctor to send it! So they called me and set up the next step...Orientation! My Orientation is scheduled for June 5th @ 8:30am! Not so happy about getting up really early but it is for a good cause! As a complete more steps i get more excited and more nervous! I had my gall bladder removed back in 2005 and they did it Laparoscopically.... the same way that this surgery will be done. I was in alot of pain for the first week. It was even a task for me to get up off a chair and to sit down. I know i will face the same task again. But at least i have a little experience and know what to expect.
